The Different Formalisms for Templating Space Time
The position of something in space time or its velocity for that matter is not affected by the coordinate system I use to describe it. And so when we're constructing our formalism for velocity and distances and everything in space time you better be sure that this formalism gives the same answer regardless of the coordinate system that I use. It's just like if you measure velocity in meters per second or you measure it in feet per minute right those units are different but the answer should be the sameif I ask you how long is it going to take to get there.
