The Effect of Blind Audition on Women Passing the First Round
In the 1970s, top orchestras had as few as 5% women in their ranks. To combat this, they made performers take off their shoes before auditions. Researchers found that this method increased the chance of women passing by 50%. That is not terrible. It's from playing, playing a violin. Mm-hmm.
