How to Stop Cobalt Digging in the Congo
The violence, harm and degradation of the people digging out cobalt from the ground could end very quickly in short order if there was will. Instead of two dollars a day, which is not enough to survive, parents have to take children out of school and put them to work so they can also earn a dollar that day. So rather than that scenario, let's just pay everyone ten dollars a day,. okay, like a dollar an hour, basically. That's enough for mother and father to earn, keep children in school, buy clothes, buy food and survive. Why don't we give them all masks, goggles, boots and so on?
