The Euphoria of Desire

The upbeat and the downbeat have a lot in common. The euphoria has this kind of, you know, intensity and exquisiteness that the hell also has. When he's in the opium state, everything seems part of this one big notion. And so what you would need to actually get high, that dose increases and increases. Eventually, you can be taking a very, very high dose just to feel normal. So you're not feeling the euphoria anymore. And in fact, the pleasure of the drug drops away. It's not really pleasure, it's desire.
