Import Prices Are Only Up Ten Point Seven % Year Over Year
Dollar index rose from one o seven to one o eight this week. It's near 20 year i against the uro, and at a 24 year high against the japanese yet. The dollar is so strong that import prices are only up by ten point seven % on the year. We have got the highest inflation in forty years, yet we have the strongest dollar in 20 or 24 years. How can that be? Because if you think about what inflation really is, it's about the loss of purchasing power of the dollar.
