Is There a Good Damnation Arc in Lestat and Rice?

Nate's critiques are completely spot on like he's a hundred percent right about Ted but what makes this such a good damnation arc though is that Nate is sabotaging himself. In other stories I think there's an effort to excuse the villain and say like well he was like abused as a kid or suffered some great loss so it's okay that he's abusing his co-workers, building a surveillance empire. Those are stories with failed damnation arcs according to Lestat and Rice’s novel where Lestat had a rough time before becoming a vampire.
