Are Interest Rates a Good Prediction for the Economy?

We still expect those higher US and other developed world interest rates to ultimately continue to cheer activity. But one much discussed negative has been this idea that super low interest rates remove some of the need for discipline in borrowing, spending and investment. This leads to something called capital misallocation. Appetite to borrow and lend are not universally set by the level of interest rates if you think about it. We still know too little. And as with everything you should steer clear of strident voices, however, alluring.
