Vincent de Comte's Modern French Philosophy was one of the few books available at the time that kind of gave an overview of what was going on in French philosophy. He met with a colleague and a friend called Ellie Durring who told him it was really the book that got him into this period in French philosophy, which he'd recommend to people if they're interested in learning more about what happened in that period. "I think we all have different stories about a what got us into philosophy," Vincent says.
