Existence as Act

Existence in this sense is sometimes called the octus ascendi. It's like two Latin words in a row. Active being or something like that. Existence as the actus ascendi, or existence as act, is responsible for existence as fact. The squirrel exists in the factual world because of its internal existence principle. That principle accounts for the squirrels being actual rather than merely potential.
