The Taliban and the Murky World of Geopolitics

The Taliban are notorious for going back on their word when they became the state government of Afghanistan. They claimed that they were going to have some slightly more progressive social policies, but went back on them almost immediately. The treatment of women by the Taliban government is absolutely horrendous and inhumane. There's still lots of restrictions on employment, closing down schools. It's a heartbreaking and in my head unsustainable situation.
