India's Future in the South China Sea

I don't think the US establishment, at least the ones in the government, are thinking of India in a way that will be an actual ally in against China. I do agree that India is unlikely to behave like a weaker ally now. And the US-India relationship will definitely have some shades that the US-China relationship had until 2004,. There was not a full agreement. You know, there were things which happened which sort of meant that there was serious strain on the relationship. But broadly, it still continued and grew on many fronts, right? So some shades of that will definitely be there here. It's important to take tell us this warning with some seriousness, instead of defending that
