Reactive Attachment Disorder in Children in Child Welfare
Less than 10% of children in child welfare will develop reactive attachment disorder may be very low. Lack of ability to form secure attachments is going to have reciprocal problems for the child later in life. On the polar opposite end of the spectrum is disinhibited social engagement disorder. The child frequently approaches and interacts with unfamiliar adults, as evidenced by two of the following lack of caution in interacting with unfamiliar adults.
