The two words that destroy innovation in my view are prove it and analyze. The only way you can demonstrate a proposition is true is by assuming the future will be identical to the past. You cannot prove analytically any innovation in advance. It's not because they inherently can't go together, it's because the practice of strategy has become an analytical exercise. And this violates for what it's worth - I'm visually writing an article with another friend on this summer in HBR. But Aristotle is the guy who brought us analysis. Right?
