Algazali, the Suni Revival
Peter adamson, algazali was born in persia in the mid eleventh century. He grew up in a central part of the islamic world which at the time stretched from spain to central asia. And it was at that time that the greek philosophical works that you just mentioned were translated into arabic. The caliphate at the time of algazli is still a going concern in the sense that there is a caliph in bagdad.
