Ebonic is a form of English that has been adopted from african languages. The absence of the bee form, as in something like e ugly or she nice iis attributable to that original contact situation. pedagogically, i think the way we need to approach it is to admit the truth about dialects. In certain contexts, speaking afAfrican american vernacular as clear advantages. In other contexts, it has clear limitations. To say that someone has no grammar when they have this highly complex grammar is tolerated discrimination.
