The Grace Is the Lizard Department Defense

The department of defense has funded a project that is seeking to develop repellents that can be applied once and be active for multiple months. The idea is taking human colonizing skin bacteria and engineering them in such a way that they can either express a repellent compound or degrade something that's attractive. This, I always have my, my first complaint question concern about this, which is how come it's always got to be the military? How can we can't have anything nice unless the military needs it first? We got to get out of this mindset.
