How to Avoid the Keep Box or Keep Pile

If I was looking for this item, where would I look for it first? Don't wait. Take it there right now. This is basically the opposite of what seemed so efficient to me before. If taking things on one run through the house and taking all my items to be delivered to their perfect homes later seems completely inefficient to my hyperlogical brain.
