The Effects of Exercise on Muscle Mass Loss

Training will increase your rate of muscle protein turnover. So if you then mobilize someone who's been training, let's say they become ill, then the rate of muscle mass loss may actually be quicker because they're dropping from a higher level. And you see the same thing in aging studies so that, you know, people talk about the percentage loss of muscle mass as greater in an older person.
