The Importance of Intentions in Perception
Phenomenology has a lot to say that's critical of rationalistic or empirisist conceptions of how it is that consciousness works. Empiricism wants to build up from impressions that are simply just copies of the sensations that sort of hit hit us from outside in experience, right? And building up from impressions and talk about the laws of association. But what ponte wants to do as he wants to get back into the preconceptual, pre propositional, even linguistic, kind of aspect of perception.
