Not all instances of using a unified graph result in a public GraphQL API. Twitter is a really good example. Their public API is a REST tool, but it is a client of the GraphQL API gateway. You can also do query with REST, which are four less than that when you can get with GraphQL. But if you want to restrain the amount of data you will get, you can do that.
