James Joyce's Ego, Mania, Is This?
James Joyce was convinced he was a genius. He just went around pounding on doors of literary figures in Dublin, right? The guy who gave him the Irish home is George Russell. Even after he wrote Ulysses, I think there was a little bit of a grudging of him from some of the English literary establishment people. It's like, you're this Dublin kid, you kind of, you know, let's give him some credit in the oppression Olympics. Like, being a kid from Dublin with no real family name is kind of rough.
