When he was 12, Ravi Agrawal started reading Michael Schurmer's Why People Believe Weird Things. The book helped him unravel the threads of belief dogma and how do we know if something's real? He also learned about magic and charlatanism in a very accessible and entertaining place. In his second year at university, Agrawal became clinically depressed due to self-esteem issues. This is where he decided to get into philosophy - mostly Western philosophy. There, he discovered the Stoics as well as Nietzsche.
