Why Do Frogs Need Jumping Power?

Frogs don't have the ability to control their posture in mid-air. Their vestibular system is small, leaving them ill-equipped to adjust for tumbling during a jump. Most frogs fold their legs under their body in mid- air so that upon the instant of landing they're ready to jump again. Surprisingly there isn't always natural selection pressure to land properly after a big jump.
