Tyler Tatera swindled tens of thousands of dollars in total from three victims. Court documents tell the story of an easily bored man skilled at using superficial charm to deceit and create chaos. Using photos stolen from a former police woman social media, including her uniform, he created a Tinder profile of an alluring blonde called Tori. He told one victim she was working in an anti corruption operation and needed his help to plant a listening device in a police car. On November 11, 2020, Mr. L brought a marked police patrol vehicle to Auckland and handed it over to the terror thinking he was Tori's colleague.
