The Importance of Amnesty
There are two Yeshua's being put forward here. One of them is Yeshua bought a boss, which is very ironic because bought a boss is an Aramaic word for son of the father. Pilate knew that it was out of self-interest or envy they had handed Jesus over to them. So when the crowd was gathered, Pilate asked them: Which one of these Yeshua's do you want me to release to you? He did this because he knew that it would make him look nice in their eyes.
