Can Mitochondria Cause Diabetes?

The notion that mitochondrial cause diabetes is quite controversial because you have people that sit on either side of the fence. And so I think that what I always want to phrase it as is can mitochondrial dysfunction cause insulin resistance? If you had a dysfunction, I think it could. But mitochondria aren't necessarily the cause, but they can influence how the cell handles that lipid availability in the response to exercise. All right.
