Is There a Good Theory of Inequality?

A good theory is stronger than what appears often to be the evidence, and it leads to a reinterpretation of the evidence. If it fits all the evidence we've got, it doesn't tell us anything different. We just goon. But if it leads to us changing our way, the way we see the world, then it's a much more important, interesting theory. I would love to hear your take on a psychological theory of lay beliefs about inequality. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
