The way you deal with mass disinformation in a democracy, the only really good way to deal with it is not to have it in the first place. It creates situations like so mainstream media begins fact checking Trump reporting lie after lie. What does conservative media do? It provides an alternative for Trump constituencies who say now, look at how biased mainstream media is. They're clearly anti Trump.
