The Importance of Backpropagation in Artificial Intelligence
Backpropagation is an algorithm that computer programs use. It's used in a very large number of the major machine learning models, particularly language models. Back propagation allows a credit assignment for each of the different layers backwards across the network. But it's pretty much known to be not plausible for the brain to implement.
