Is Madrid a Backwater?
In the 11th century Madrid had been taken from the Moors by Christian forces. It remained a rather small and obscure settlement for a long time. There are some notable monuments left that you can still see. The Casa de los Muccanes was a notable family and its tower off the Ka Yamaiord.
