Aaron Carroll: As a writer, you're always coming up with ideas. I usually depend on my alpha and beta readers to tell me where characters need to be cut because usually I'm not that great at it. "I write 400,000 word books. I just put it all in," he says of his writing process. The last idea for an ending is probably better than the first one you had.
