Sexual exploitation was a big part of why people bought slaves. A lot of slaveholders clearly were thinking about fathering children within slave that happened frequently. In the islamic society, if a man fathered a child with a slave, the child was understood to be his child and he acknowledged it if this was an heir. Whereas that rule didn't exist in christian europe, at least not in the societies. And i think you speculate a little bit about maybe why that, that practice changed over the years in europe. Maybe it's a, maybe it was because of influence from theIslamic world.
