The Rise of Substance Use Disorder in Capitalism
The rate of profit, the productivity in this golden age of capitalism has never been higher than it is now. The government started intervening much more heavily in the economy in the neoliberal era when profits went down and they're like, oh shit, we got to make the line go back up. They don't have anywhere else. There's nothing wrong with that if you have the disorder or have had a- No, we're not trying to shame any substance use disorder. Or to use a different metaphor perhaps that I enjoy that I've used before. Show it off to the show.
