Is the Federal Government Trying to Make Sense of These Interest Rates?
Sally Kohn: We have proceeded as if the low interest rate, low unemployment environments that we've got used to will just go on forever for some reason. And what we're now seeing is that you just can't end history and I think that's a bad sign. The federal government doesn't have any money left. It can print money and borrow it up to a certain point because the US is the world's reserve currency. But we are already every year spending more than we take in. Even the conservative party is planning to spend more than it takes in and is unwilling to touch the drivers of our deficits and therefore debt.
