How to Give a Critique
Theresa's least favorite critiques are the sandwiching technique. The most extreme example i can think of is when a joke is funny or it isn't. Bob mankoff makes that as the first point in his ted talk on new yorker humor. I've shown big labowski to two different groups within week's time. One group sat there with their arms folded and practically never chuckled. And the other group were falling all over in the aisles. So some o em are going to say, labowsky isn't funny but how do you sort that out? If a person says this joke isn't working, they might just be expressing their opinion.
