The Difference Between Anger and Fear
According to this model, the difference between anger and sadness is although both are negatively valenced, anger is associated with high arousal. But you don't feel highly aroused, typically when you're sad, at least not unless that's mixed with something else, right? You feel lower arousal. And then of course, you've got your positively valenced emotions which are on the other side of that axis. So excitement would be a form of positive valence and high arousal, whereas calmness or contentment would be positive valence but lower arousal.
