The Difference Between Voluntary and Obligatory Misfos
After God gave us the Torah at that point it was to apply everywhere. If he shouldn't be there and is violating that, that might compromise his command. The halachan says he's in the right place. But not just the fact that the purpose of the land of Israel is the ultimate purpose ... I don't think that would affect it.
