West Nile Virus
West nile virus was discovered kind of accidentally. Researchers weren't out looking for an outbreak of unexplained febrile illness. Over the next 60 years or so after its discovery, westnalvirus was not really considered that much. In 19 51, a hundred and 23 cases occurred in a small town the size of 303 people. But over all, these outbreaks really kind of served to reinforce the idea, in many ways, that westnilvirus was mostly a mild mosquito born illness.
