Bebop and the Electric Guitar
With Bebop they were trying to deconstruct the chords in an interesting way and swing would have just been let me take the Scershwin song I've got with them. So you know adding extra chords to extending the harmony which was a big part of the Bebop thing. And yeah but there were people there was a bass player called Coleridge Goode who came to Scotland actually first came to Glasgow in the 30s. He played in Benny Goodman's Small Band and he was arguably the first kind of proper Bebop guitarist. Charlie Christian was the first big kind of electric guitar star who was one of them.
