Is There a Target Heart Rate for Rate Control?

The biggest thing now when we try to achieve rate control is twofold. One is to make sure that the patient is less symptomatic. Second is to prevent tachycardia and mediate its cardiomyopathy. When you look at the guidelines typically speaking, the desired target rate is less than 100 beats per minute at rest. Certainly it depends on symptoms and also at presence of 11 trigger dysfunction.
