The Linearity of Life
Sally Kohn: I want to share a quote from Sophie Strand. She says take a piece of paper, a pen and draw your life in most instances we draw a line slicing the paper into a linear horizon,. That's how we often conceive of our lives when we present it as a narrative to other people. But she does a beautiful job of articulating how that language has instilled this sense of linearity to how we think about our lives. It opens you up to sort of a richness of experience that you might not get if you're just thinking about simple linear causality.
