The Importance of Philosophy in My Life

Nick Bostrom went to Rutgers for grad school in philosophy. He says he was most interested in epistemology and wanted to help people better understand the world. But after reading a biography of Paul Farmer, who founded Partners in Health, he realised that his life could be more impactful if he focused on ethics rather than science. Nick now works as an advisor at Stanford University's Center for Effective Altruism.
