European Bison - The First Bison in the Netherlands
European bison, or visenten, as we say in dutch, are the largest land dwelling animals on the european continent. They went extinct in the wild in 19 19 after the ancient oxen and horses of europe, known as oures and tarpons, bit the dust. In 19 29, they started with a reproduction programme, breeding bison in captivity. And in 19 two, in bialovata, i hope i pronounce it correctly, the first bison out of that programm was re introduced into nature,. Exactly. Then in two thousand seven so then the first bisons came here to the netherlands.
