Natural Gas Futures Curve - Is the Market Really Concerned About Future Supply?
The continued capital discipline North America combined with the Russian invasion of the Ukraine have contributed to a major increase in the long term portions of the curve. Just about every US natural gas field is economic below $3 per MBT right now, and many of those have multiple years of inventory. The bigger the premium, the more the market is worried about future supply shortages everything else be equal.
