The Different Stages of Group Formation
The five stages of managing group work or collaboration are forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. If students aren't aware of the group formation process, they may not be able to take part in an active learning classroom. In this episode, I want to share these two activities that you can use to briefly introduce students through the steps for each stage. The first activity is the card castle which takes 15 to 20 minutes but could be stretched out a little longer if needed.
