The Importance of Teaching in China

The Dean of Shandong shares his experiences teaching Confucianism in mainland China. He says censorship is easier to tolerate if it's carried out in an open and apologetic manner. In Singapore, he was told you can't teach John Stuart Mills on Liberty or subjection of women. But that sort of crude censorship happens now, whereas before it didn't happen, so it's not from a healthy academic freedom point of view for sure.
