The Protests in East Germany

Helmut and his fellow students are instructed by the headmaster of their college to go out into the protesting crowds. In Helmut's mind, the protesters' demands are not realistic. The factory workers went into the streets because their normal hours were increased. This meant less money than usual and that's why they were demonstrating. It became about their wanting to have the same things as people in the West.
