The WTA's Statement on Post-Match Handshakes
I want as many eyeballs on Wimbledon as possible in this country. Court number one only starts half an hour earlier and that court has finished every day so far. I feel like maybe there's some compromise and it's obviously something that will be looked at. The WTA respects the position of the Ukrainian athletes in foregoing the tradition of shaking opponents' hands from Russia and Belarus following their force round match yesterday. We have some of the best fans in the world and are grateful for their passion and dedication. And we thank them for their understanding and respect for the athletes.
