How to Read Text in Taiwanese

The word otter is used as a classifier for fruit, kind of. That's the closest thing I can find in English. And actually it is also used as a relativizer or a trutotypizer, which it's like regarding the word otter. So even if sometimes you get the word Otter wrong, you can still understand it more or less. But then I was going to ask Maisian as well, becauseI know that in Taiwan people maintain the traditional writing characters more often than these simplified ones. Is it difficult for Taiwanese people to read mainland text?
