The Importance of Mutation Bias in Evolutionary Theory

One important goal of evolutionary theory is to make better predictions about evolutionary trajectories into the future. We don't know how important this is going to be in practice, but certainly we can look at the kinds of things that people do forecasting on or try to want to predict like cancer. CPG mutations take place 10 times more frequently than other nucleotide mutations. The top five most frequent mutation clinical cancer mutations in TP53 are CPG mutations.
